Chief Executive Officer

A seasoned retail finance professional with a long career in the retail industry, Huw has accumulated operational and leadership experience. He has held roles at Barclays Partner Finance and was a part of the senior leadership team at Close Brothers, driving growth and go-to-market strategies before the company’s acquisition by Klarna in 2019.

Following his tenure in a global leadership role at Klarna, he transitioned to a position at a London-based finance broker before joining Buyline as CEO in January 2023. In his spare time, Huw enjoys marathon running and is an active supporter of the Welsh football team. He also has a curious affiliation with Ipswich Town and possesses a wide range of musical tastes

Subbu has a proven track record of achieving remarkable success in consumer finance businesses commencing with GE Money Consumer Finance. This includes the impressive feat of building profitable portfolios from scratch.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Leon Tunnicliff is Head of Risk at Buyline, where he leads credit and risk strategy for one of the UK’s fastest-growing retail finance providers.

Before joining Buyline, Leon held senior risk roles at Etika and other established lenders, bringing with him over a decade of experience in credit risk, affordability, and compliance.

He now plays a key role in shaping Buyline’s responsible lending approach, supporting SME growth while maintaining strong portfolio performance
